The Maricopa Millions, MCCCD’s OER project, is starting it’s third year in 2015-2016 and has already saved students in MCCCD $3,458,000. That’s $3.4 million of the goal to save $5 million in 5 years. I’d say they’re well on their way to meeting that goal.
In four phases MM has four classes completed and another seven in various stages of development. But now it’s time to showcase the completed OER courses so that others in the district can use these materials too. Adoption is an important step, as every faculty member who adopts an OER has the potential to save 24 to 150 students money.
