As the academic year wraps up, we are recognizing faculty leaders transitioning out of their CTLE roles and welcoming those stepping into new ones. We are fortunate to work with dedicated and creative individuals who care deeply about teaching, learning, and the GCC community.

Beth Eyres headshot

Beth Eyres has served as CTLE Faculty Co-Director since Fall 2021, following four years as eCourse Coordinator, and has made a significant impact on teaching and learning at GCC and the work of the CTLE. In these roles, she has supported faculty as they reflect on their practice, implement new teaching strategies, and experiment with innovative technologies.

A strong collaborator, Beth co-created the Two Profs in a Pod podcast with Tenisha Baca and worked with Lisa Moore to develop engaging accessibility training. She has also been an early adopter and leader in CTLE work around AI, sharing her expertise through developing resources and professional development for faculty and staff.

Beth has facilitated numerous workshops and book clubs on topics including the Peralta Rubric, TILT, AI, and RSI, and has helped plan and support conferences and other professional development events. She has contributed in countless ways to improving online courses at GCC through course reviews, course development, mentoring, and her support of part-time instructional designers.

Beth has accomplished so much, but more than anything, she is an incredible colleague who brings positivity, creativity, and a sense of fun to everything she does. With heartfelt thanks from the CTLE, we congratulate Beth on her retirement.

We are celebrating Christina Clark as she transitions from her role as PAR and FYRE Facilitator into her new role as CTLE Faculty Co-Director. Christina has been an instrumental guide and mentor to 57 new GCC faculty over the past few years through the FYRE process, orienting them to the college, the district, and their work as new residential faculty. She has also guided an additional 46 faculty to successfully complete the PAR/PARc process. Christina has helped GCC navigate the many recent PAR/PARc process changes, working with faculty and administration to make things run smoothly.

In addition to her work on our campus, she has contributed significantly on the district level with planning district events and making important decisions regarding changes and improvements to PAR/PARc and FYRE. We are grateful for her hard work and commitment to our faculty. Thank you, Christina!

Krysten Pampel

We want to welcome Krysten Pampel to the role of PAR/FYRE Facilitator, starting in Fall 2026. Dr. Krysten Pampel is a residential faculty member in the Mathematics Department. An alumna of GCC, she earned her Master’s degree in Adult Education and Training from the University of Phoenix and a Ph.D. in Undergraduate Mathematics Education from Arizona State University.

Dr. Pampel began her teaching career in 2009 as a high school math instructor before transitioning to college-level instruction in 2012. Since joining GCC in 2017, she has specialized in teaching future elementary educators across multiple modalities. A dedicated advocate for student-centered learning, Dr. Pampel is deeply committed to fostering innovation in education. She has participated in initiatives such as the OER Practitioner Series, the Reimagine Cohort, and the Maricopa Institute for Learning Research Fellowship. She currently serves as the Mathematics and Computer Science Department Chair and has held roles such as Co-Faculty Developer, Department eCourse Coordinator, Department Assessment Coordinator, HLC Co-Chair, and Evening Assistant Chair.

It’s impossible to fully express our gratitude to Beth for everything she has contributed to the CTLE and GCC. We are truly grateful for her commitment and passion for this work. As we celebrate her impact and wish her well in her retirement, we also look ahead with excitement. We are thrilled to welcome Christina and Krysten into their new roles and look forward to the opportunities ahead at GCC and the CTLE.
