On March 1st, 50+ GCC faculty gathered to set the campus on fire at the Spring 2024 Disco Inferno!

Student engagement and AI were the hot grooves for the day. Participants who attended the dancing frenzy had this to say:

  • I think the entire program was valuable. I liked hearing the panel members’ discussion of AI uses in their real-world working environments. I also found the librarians’ demonstration of all of the AI options helpful.
  • The entire program was valuable. It is hard to pinpoint one thing, as I learned from each person. I did enjoy the panel of AI experts as I got a better sense of how it is being used in the real world.
  • The new learning styles and techniques that I had never thought of using before. I left with new insights and ideas of how I can make my classroom more engaging and challenging.
  • This workshop really helped me reframe my perspective regarding AI– both in how I might incorporate it myself and how I respond/react to it as an educator.
  • I think just learning of the different projects people were working upon was fun to see. Additionally, I thought the panel at the end was very informative.
  • I loved all the strategies shared during the Power Hour! I have so many wonderful things to incorporate into my classes.
  • The AI panel [was most valuable]. It is always great to hear about topics being used in the workforce[from those who are in the workforce].
  • The overall organization of the “power hour,” then building into the 2 longer sessions and panel discussion [was great].
  • I learned (or will use ideas) from almost every presentation!

Furthermore 95% of participants either Strongly Agreed or Agreed with the following statements:

  • Topics addressed were relevant
  • Activities were pertinent and worthwhile
  • Facilitators were knowledgeable
  • Outcomes were accomplished
  • Expectations were met
  • Recommend the program
