Have you been looking for some resources related to equity as you attempt to reach your department goals regarding course completion or retention? As you get ready to move into summer and, hopefully, a much needed rest, here are three resources for you to bookmark and take a look at during your leisure.
- Peralta’s 2021 Online Equity Conference Playlist: Video playlist from Peralta’s first annual equity conference. You can find presentations on topics like the following:
- TILT (Transparency in Learning and Teaching) Higher Ed: Here you can discover the Transparent Assignment Template (recently added to GCC’s Canvas Course Template) whose use, along with more problem-centered purpose (long-term relevance to students’ lives and connection to learning outcomes) increases students’ academic confidence and sense of belonging, particularly for first-generation students and all other groups of underserved students. You’ll find a summary of the research linked on their site.
- Equitable Online Teaching from the California Virtual Campus Online Network of Educators: Here you can find free, live/recorded “virtual events designed to support equitable online learning experiences” created by the California Community Colleges.
