This episode of Organizing Your Digital Self takes you back to the concept of Inbox Zero and Episode 1. I will show you how to use Boomerang to take messages out of your inbox until you actually need them. Boomerang for Gmail is a browser plugin that adds time-awareness to email. Boomerang can be used from within a single message, from the Inbox, or from within a folder in Gmail. When reading a message, click the “Boomerang” button, which is located next to the “More Actions” button. Select one of several pre-defined times or customize a new time and confirm. Watch my video below to see how this all works.
In addition I’ll show you how to you the Tasks feature in Gmail to help you organize your to-do’s.

Hey, I have a faster way to create a task from an email, no copy/pasting required. With any email message open, go to the “More” button and choose Add to Tasks. The content of the email message is automatically included in your Task and so is a link to open up the email message from the Tasks window.

Make a screencast. I don’t have a more button. Might be a browser thing. In Firefox, no “More” option. I’ll have to try Chrome.
