The CTLE recently conducted a survey of faculty and staff about their use of AI tools.  74.2% of the respondents stated they do not use any AI tools personally or professionally. Some of the reasons reported for not using AI included: privacy and ethical concerns on how to correctly use AI, resistance to change course development, and time needed to learn how to use AI.  However, the number one reason was lack of awareness and understanding.

Being that AI is continuing to grow in use in all industries, the CTLE is hosting a panel discussion on March 1st from 3:05 – 4:05 pm focusing on AI use in the workforce during the Disco Inferno Conference.  The panel will start with a short description of the different types of AI and then five professionals from various industries will address topics such as how they are using AI in their professional environment, ethical boundaries/restrictions to consider when using AI, how AI has influenced employee roles and responsibilities, the value of using AI at work, and more.

Attend the CTLE Disco Inferno to gain valuable insight on best practices that focus on the use of AI in the classroom and strategies to increase student engagement in all course formats.  A detailed schedule is provided on the Disco Inferno website
