The Benefits of Greenery in Your Workspace

Many studies have proven that having plants in your home and workspace have a significant impact on your mood and overall health. Some of the benefits include:

  • Lower levels of anxiety
  • Improve air quality
  • Promote self-care
  • Improve memory
  • Boost self-esteem

If you are anything like me, at this point you might be thinking the following:

  • I have killed every plant given to me, even the “hard to kill” ones.
  • I do not have a window in my office.
  • I do not have time to care for yet another thing in my life.

You are in luck! Fake plants produce the same anxiety reducing feeling as the real ones. By choosing a fake plant you will not have the benefits of improved air quality but you still have the opportunity to have lessened feelings of stress and improvements in your overall mood.

Here are pictures of the fake plants I have added to my office over the past semester:

I picked these up from Nearly Natural’s clearance section.

If you are thinking of adding a live plant to your office, make sure to consider the lighting (add a grow light, if you need), size of the plant, and how you will care for the plant during breaks.
