If you took Strategies for Effectively Teaching Online, you already know that the course culminates into building a successful Getting Started module. But, did you know that Quality Matters dedicates an entire standard to the online course overview and introduction? When we think about students being successful, that first week in a class is crucial to providing guidance to students.
So have you thought about your Orientation and the questions you got from students this last semester? Have you thought about some more tips you could provide or guidance you could give? As you think about either creating or revising that orientation, I encourage you to take a look at the infographic here made by the Content Delivery Team of the GCC eCourse Committee: Krysten Pampel, Kelly Devenney, Polly Laubach, Debbie Leedy, Janet Brooks, and Lynn Newman. On the clickable image, you’ll find example videos and tips for creating and revising course orientations.
