NILOA Coach Visit. On Thursday, February 28th from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, Joseph Levy will be on campus to share his expertise in assessment. Mr. Levy is the Executive Director of Assessment and Accreditation at National Louis University and serves as a coach for the National Institute for Learning Outcomes Assessment (NILOA). NILOA’s coach program, in partnership with the Lumina Foundation, allows institutions to apply for a free one-day visit from an assessment expert. Mr. Levy will give two workshops focused on co-curricular assessment, a new focus for HLC accreditation. One session will highlight assessment in Student Affairs and the other will allow club advisors, athletic coaches, and student leaders to consider how to assess learning in their organizations. Also on the day’s schedule is a Q&A session for anyone with assessment questions, a meeting to discuss the role of assessment in the CTLE, and a presentation on how to motivate assessment and ensure quality. The full agenda can be viewed here. Invitations are being sent out but all are invited. Please reach out to Julie Morrison (julie.morrison@gccaz.edu) or Lore Carvajal (lorelei.carvajal@gccaz.edu) if you would like to attend one or more sessions.
