Today is International Women’s Day! On behalf of the CTLE, I would like to express our gratitude to all of the women in the MCCCD community and specifically those who work and study at GCC. We are lucky to work on a campus with brilliant, hard-working, and dedicated female faculty, staff, and students. Thank you for all you do and for being who you are!

In honor of today, I want to let you know about a great conference – The Arizona Women in Higher Education (AWHE) Conference that will be held in Flagstaff on Thursday, May 31 and Friday, June 1. This conference is for higher education professionals, so it will be valuable for both faculty and staff to attend. If you would like to present at the conference, the proposal deadline is March 15, 2018. Registration usually fills up, so be sure to register early.

Visit the AWHE website for more information on speakers, registration, and hotel accommodations. Attending a conference is also a great opportunity to build and strengthen relationships with co-workers. If you are going to AWHE, consider inviting someone else from GCC to attend with you. You can escape the summer heat and enjoy the company of another GCC Gaucho!
