Just a quick reminder to all of our Probationary Faculty that you need student evaluations for Fall 2015.  If your department has not yet done them, make sure you get them scheduled as soon as possible so you have feedback for Spring that you can add to and discuss in your IDP.

We are working with the Department Chairs currently for a standardized form and process to incorporate the data into your IDP.  It does not change the student evaluation forms to be given to students, just how you will upload the information into your IDP.  Chris and Susan will give you the forms as soon as they are officially approved.

The general procedure for Student Evaluations for all departments moving forward will be:

Fall Semester

  • Student Evaluations will be done for all probationary faculty years 1-5.  All classes/sections will be evaluated.
  • Raw data will be given to Probationary Faculty no later than Spring semester week of accountability.
  • Probationary Faculty member will tally the quantitative data on a standardized form in Excel (to be provided).
  • Probationary Faculty member will list out the qualitative data in a summary format on a Doing Well/Opportunities for Growth form (to be provided).
  • Chair and Probationary Faculty member will meet no later than the second week of classes to review/verify the data and discuss.

Spring Semester

  • All Probationary Faculty years 1-5 will document and write a reflection in their IDP discussing the results of their Fall Student Evaluations and how they are applying that information to their teaching/classes.
  • Student Evaluations will be done again for probationary faculty years 1-2.   All classes/sections will be evaluated.
  • Probationary Faculty years 1-2 will document that they had their student evaluations done and note that they will review and write the reflection in Fall when they have the results of their data.
  • Raw data will be given to Probationary Faculty no later than Fall semester week of accountability, and the Probationary Faculty member will tally the quantitative data and list out the qualitative data same as above (Fall).
  • Chair and Probationary Faculty member will meet no later than the second week of classes to review/verify the data and discuss.
