- Will the change be permanent? According to Google, this will be the permanent (for now) way that emails are sent. It has been tested for months and Google has stated that it is more user-friendly and efficient.
- Can IT change it back for us? We use Google’s email system and the changes that they make are to their system…we do not have control over that. What we can do is send you links and tips and information on how to use the changes that happen to your advantage.

Frankly, the new Gmail system sounds like Windows 8 (aka “Windows for people who were perfectly happy with Windows 7 and XP”). I haven’t seen any actual productivity decline from the new Gmail but there seem to be an awful lot of “fixes to things that weren’t broken.”
