Exploring New Galaxies of Collaboration and Learning
Friday Nov 7th, 2025 from 12:15 to 4:05 pm
Virtual
Higher education is navigating declining enrollment, questions about its value, and financial uncertainty—all while adapting to rapid advances in artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and other emerging technologies. These shifts are transforming how we teach and learn, and they call for creative, collaborative responses.
Collaboration is at the heart of meeting these challenges. From international sustainability initiatives (Caniglia et al., 2018) to faculty and students experimenting with generative AI (Atchley et al., 2024), partnerships are sparking new ways of thinking and learning.
Whether digital or face-to-face, within a discipline or across traditional boundaries, collaboration deepens learning and prepares graduates for an interconnected world. We invite you to share how you are building collaboration into your teaching, research, and practice.
We invite proposals that examine the evolving space of collaboration in higher education. Submissions may explore opportunities, challenges, or practical strategies for fostering collaborative cultures, pedagogies, and partnerships. Collaborative presentations are highly encouraged.
Proposal topics may address any of the following areas, but are not limited to these ideas:
- Strategies to help students build meaningful connections in online or hybrid courses
- Methods for evaluating teamwork skills, peer learning, or group project effectiveness
- Successful models for interdisciplinary collaboration and cross-departmental partnerships
- Team teaching or learning communities benefiting student success
- Artificial intelligence tools and human collaboration
- Generative AI or other emerging technologies as collaborative partners with students
- Community partners with service learning, community-based research, and civic engagement opportunities
- Departments collaborating across campuses in Maricopa
- Collaboration to increase student engagement in your classes
- Models of faculty-staff collaboration that have strengthened student support and success
