Brain-Compatible Teaching in Challenging Times — This October 10, 2020, webinar will explore the way all brains learn best and 20 brain-compatible strategies that facilitate comprehension and retention regardless of whether you are teaching virtually or face-to-face.
CanvasCon Online 2020 | October 15 | Virtual Event — Excited about all that Canvas has to offer? Learn even more without having to leave home by attending CanvasCon virtually for free! This is a great professional development opportunity with options for idea sharing, skill-building, and inspirational speakers with innovative ideas.
Assessment Institute: IUPUI — The Assessment Institute (October 25-28, 2020) is the nation’s oldest and largest higher education event of its type, offering over 200 workshops and talks available live and on-demand at all levels of assessment experience. This year it is virtual and free!
Open Education Conference 2020 — The virtual Open Education Conference (November 9-13, 2020) will address open educational resources, open pedagogy, and open education in an effort to “realize education ecosystems that are accessible, affordable, equitable and inclusive to everyone, regardless of their background.” Standard registration prior to October 15th is listed at $75.
Best Teachers Institute — This institute typically requires that you give up some of your precious time in the summer, but this year they are offering a five-month series (January-May) of 12 to 14 active learning, ONLINE, Saturday seminars based on the Super Course approach in a new book from Princeton University Press: Ken Bain with Marsha Marshall Bain, Super Courses: The Future of Teaching and Learning (2021). All sessions are recorded, so registrants can access any sessions that they can’t attend live. Register by October 15, 2020, for $149/person early bird tuition.
