Everyone knows that a computer virus is bad.  They are illegal, slows or kills our computer and can be a real mess to fix.  I have a very large paperweight at home that was my pride and joy computer back in the day.  Lesser known is the fact that spyware is not always illegal or even a virus.  Spyware is often downloaded with another program.  There has been a flurry of reports of spyware and viruses being downloaded when people think they are downloading legitimate programs.
