This summer the CTLE hosted the first annual Gaucho Goofy Golf Tournament. More than 80 GCC employees showed up for 9 weeks to compete on 9 putting greens designed by the CTLE; it was a unique competition and opportunity to build community. Golfers putted down stairsteps and ramps, raced to see who could putt the most balls in 30 seconds, hula-hooped, designed their own putter, and more!
The CTLE wants to thank and congratulate all the golfers for their camaraderie, sportsmanship, and friendly competition. We enjoyed getting to know teams from across the campus.
Here are what some of the participants had to say about the event.
- I thought it was a great team activity! Thank you all for creating the fun putting obstacles, trivia questions, weekly email updates and fantastic website! I’m so happy to be part of an organization that provides these options for it’s employees! The activity and team commitment motivated me to leave my desk and take a mental break from my work. I always came back to work refreshed and ready to go! Thanks again!
- It was a great way to bring people together.
- It was just so much fun to build a sense of community! I’m new to full time life here on campus and can’t express how much I enjoyed meeting new people in different departments, and I loved how supportive of each other we all were.
- Epic, great, amazing
- I think all of the courses were great and the entire activity was fabulous for building morale and fun. This really built a positive culture among those who participated. Thanks for coming up with this activity.
- Impressive
- Absolutely loved it. Being able to meet my co-workers and colleagues alone made it all worth it, but you all went above and beyond to make the actual courses fun! Thanks so much for putting it all together!
- I love seeing the emails with the golf logo it made my day.
- This putting adventure added some whimsy to the daily grind of 10 hour days. The person to person interaction and camaraderie with my co-workers was a lot of fun. I believe this summer activity was a step forward in creating a positive team culture on campus. So many feel isolated and siloed after the remoteness brought on by COVID adaptations.
- It was boat loads of fun and well organized.
- THIS WAS AWESOME!
