Did you know that MCCCD has an archive of all SIS Canvas courses? As long as you have a section number, the amazing CTLE can find and restore your class.
Typically courses are available on your Canvas Dashboard for 18 months after a course ends. Once the course ends, the Canvas shell is archived in a large database carefully managed by team at the District Office.
If you want the content of an old course to be available to you, email canvas@gccaz.edu and ask for a course restoration. You must include the section number and should include any other important information you might have (name of the course, semester and year). While the name of the course, semester and year are helpful, they are not required, only the section number is required. The name of the course, semester and year helps guarantee the CTLE restores the correct course.
Once the CTLE locates the archived course, the helpful CTLE team check the content in the course syllabus to ensure the person requesting the course restoration is the owner of the course content. Once the Instructor of Record is confirmed, the talented CTLE personell add the instructor and notifies the instrucor the content is restored. And viola…your content is restored! 🎉
If you have any questions regarding course archives and restorations, please don’t hesitate to contact canvas@gccaz.edu. One of the fabulous CTLE folks will gladly help you. 😁
