Homework is an activity designed to help students learn, but learning is a mistake-making process. Don’t penalize students for making mistakes while they practice and learn! In this video, Jayme Dyer (Biology Faculty at Durham Technical Community College) explains why grading homework (and other activities that promote learning) for correctness inhibits the learning process, and she talks about what to do instead.
