With a new semester comes new documents: letters to students, newsletters, welcome PowerPoints, and a variety of other materials.  Did you know that you don’t need to start from scratch?

http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/templates/ is the place to go to find templates on just about anything.  If you are in need of a class newsletter, go to the search bar at the top of the page and type in “newsletter” and you will find a huge variety of styles and formats that you can download and then change the content of.

This same technique will work for just about everything you need.  For example, type “MLA” into the search bar and you will find a sample research paper that tells you how to write a proper paper in that formatting.  There’s even a presentation on how to give bad news without causing panic.

The moral of this story is simple…check with the template site before you create a complicated document from scratch, it could really benefit you!
